The story behind the “N” Logo

  • Ｎ ロゴの由来

世奈という名前は偉大なるＦ１レーサー「Ayrton Senna da Silva」さんの活躍に感銘を受けた父が名付けてくれたもので（私の生まれた1989年はアイルトン・セナが牽引したF１ブームの真っ只中でした）。個人の名刺の綴りには「Senna Misawa」を採用しています。幼い頃からお稽古バックには「SENNA」のロゴがアップリケされていたり。そんな背景を汲んでアートディレクターのKahoMagaraさんがNの重なる様を表現したロゴデザインを作って下さいました。

Senna was named after the great Formula 1 racer, “Ayrton Senna da Silva”. She was born in the middle of a worldwide popularity for Formula 1, and Senna’s father gave her the name after he was impressed by Ayrton’s success. The name on her business card reads “Senna Misawa” with two “n”s just like it has been on her backpacks in her childhood.

Art director Kaho Magara incorporated this story into the design of the “N” logo with the overlapping letters.
