You must actively train and educate successors.

This has become an important promise between me and Toru.

It is obvious that the number of Edo Kiriko artisans will not decrease if each of us were to train and teach the younger generation our techniques.

Many artisans of traditional arts and crafts spend years perfecting their skills, and is natural to only have private pupils in the later years of their craftsmanship.

There are many difficulties in teaching my juniors as an artisan with only five years of experience.

However, by teaching whilst my memory as a young artisan is still very vivid, I feel I am able to share the doubts and insecurities my juniors encounter.

I am grateful to be given the chance to teach at this stage, because the process of teaching is often full of realization of my weaknesses and my lack of knowledge.

The person I have become now and the glasswares of the SENNA MISAWA line are genuine products of the teachings of Edo Kiriko.

As an artisan who benefits from the long history and the advanced techniques of Edo Kiriko, it is my mission to willingly hand these down to my successors.
