Capsule Toy Machine “Gacha Gacha”

「真剣にやれよ！仕事じゃねぇんだぞ！」
タモリさんの有名な言葉ですよね。

ガチャガチャの制作は、仕事でありながら、仕事ではないような気持ちで取り組みました。(笑)
でもこれはある意味、すごく堀口切子らしいとも言えます。

カプセルには、堀口切子の代表作で、レギュラーとしても販売している、菊花文のぐい呑が入っています。通常色６色と、シークレットカラーの一色の中から、いずれか一つが出てくる仕組みです。
ガチャガチャの実現に向けて、ディスプレイ用紙をデザイナーさんに依頼したり、カプセルの中に同封するミニブックの紙質を細かく指定したり、投入するコインを自主製作したりもしました。

堀口切子では「遊ぶ」ことに関しても妥協はしません。
本気の「遊び」だからこそ、一つ一つ真剣に向き合い、妥協はしないと決めています。

The making of the Edo Kiriko “Gacha Gacha” felt nothing like a task to us. However, this is a mindset that well explains the Horiguchi Kiriko-ism.

In the capsules are Horiguchi Kiriko’s classic Guinomi with the chrysanthemum flower pattern. The customers will find one out of six regular colours and one secret colour.
We have gone extra miles to make our dream come true: requesting for our display to be designed by a professional designer, specifying paper quality for the mini-book put in the capsules, and self-produced coins to insert in the machine.

At Horiguchi Kiriko, we never make compromises when it comes to “having fun”.

There is no such thing as too much fun!
